All three species are interesting, sometimes with striking foliage, perennials which work nicely in plantings to blend or accent nearby plants. Mounds of beautiful leaves and often delicate fower stalks atrract butterflies and hummingbirds.
Heucheras require sun or partial sun and average to dry soils. Tiarellas (foam flower), a spreading native woodland plant, require mostly shade and moist soils. Heucherellas are a cross between heucheras and tiarellas, requiring partial sun with dry to moist soils.
